IAM Security Architect, IT Security, Risk Compliance The IAM Security Architect is a key member of the Information Security, Risk and Compliance team and works closely with cross functional teams in IT and business to provide IAM focused security technology strategy and architecture leadership and direction to Gilead enterprise wide. The candidate will assist and ensure that security enforcement technologies and standards are used and applied to enable strong and seamless security in support of Gilead’s business strategies and processes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Understand, advocate and augment the principles of business and IT strategies Analyze enterprise business context/needs (trends and business strategy) to derive appropriate IAM focused architectures, strategies and roadmaps Research emerging Identity technologies and trends in support of security enhancement and development efforts Analyze the current IAM technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions Create and deliver compelling presentations to articulate relevant IAM strategies, architecture and roadmaps to various stakeholders in the Organization Define the principles that guide IAM technology decisions and tradeoffs for the enterprise Lead or consult on IAM solution implementation activities for new or existing systems. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Infrastructure Engineering, Operations and IT SRC team to define effective overall security technology architecture and roadmaps Lead and facilitate the evaluation and selection of IAM technologies and product standards, and the design of standard configurations/implementation patterns for these solutions Consult on solution architecture for projects to ensure compliance with overall enterprise and security technical architecture standards Identify the organizational and financial impact of IAM focused solutions Develop, document and maintain an IAM Technical Reference Architecture Review and analyze existing IAM / IAM security solutions for effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies to improve and enhance the solutions. Lead the development of architecture for new network security solutions and/or enhancements to existing network security solutions. As needed, participate in security incident investigations, Assist in developing responses to internal external audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments and recommend preventive measures to reduce risk. Assist in formalizing and updating relevant security policies, procedures and technical standards and auditing/monitoring compliance with those standards. SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS: Deep knowledge of Identity Privileged Identity Management platforms Strong experience with standards and industry best practices around the management and security of Identities in a hybrid environment (multi-cloud on-prem systems) Strong experience with mid/large global enterprises with large geographical topologies Excellent understanding ability to develop and articulate a vision for IAM / Security domains and understand short-term and Long-term ("big picture") vision Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation along with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence technology decisions at all levels (from senior IT and business management leaders to technical contributors staff) Strong, track record of designing secure IAM architectures for complex solutions and an ability to deliver results through partnering with stakeholders in IT and the business Proven management experience with basic knowledge of financial models and cost-benefit analysis In addition to an exceptional knowledge of the IAM space, must have a good understanding of other security domains such as, Audit and Monitoring, Risk Response Recovery, Governance Risk Management, Cryptography, Data Communications, Malicious Code, Computer Operations Security, Vulnerability assessments, BCP/DR, Telecommunications Network Security, Security Management Practices, Investigation Ethics Solid understanding of "Cloud Architectures" (e.g., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and the ability to address the unique Identity considerations of secure Cloud computing (including effective monitoring) Advanced knowledge of Federated Identity Management, Single Sign On, and Enterprise class Identity and Access Management solutions (e.g. technology, processes, architecture, etc.) Strong verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of IT processes (i.e., ITIL) including incident, problem, defect, change and release management Strong Knowledge of IS and Privacy Frameworks/standards such as SSAE16 Type II, Safe Harbor, ISO/IEC 2700x series, NIST 800-53, COBIT, HITRUST, HIPAA, PCI etc. Basic Qualifications: 10+ years’ relevant experience with BS / BA 8+ years’ relevant experience with MS / MA / MBA 10 or more years of experience in IT security, privacy and risk management domains Information Security Certifications (CISSP, etc.) or other related security certifications Preferred Qualifications: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
