Senior Accountant, Intercompany Division: Weir ESCO Location: Unit B, 20F The JMT Corporate Condominium, ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City Hybrid Purpose of Role: The Senior Accountant - Intercompany is responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger and the monthly accounting cycle in our Global Business Shared Services team in all aspects of intercompany accounting. A thorough knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and an ability to administer all internal standards is required. This position ensures that intercompany accounting transactions are properly recorded, posted, processed, and reported to ensure accurate presentation of the balance sheet and income statement for multiple global regions; responds to internal customer escalations and ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting controls; helps coordinate activities that support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, profit and loss statements; and monitors general ledger maintenance and monthly accounting processing activities to ensure thoroughness and accuracy The Global Business Shared Services (GBS) office serves North America, Australia, Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa for accounting services such as General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review Balance Sheet reconciliations timely, accurately, and in compliance with company guidelines. Investigate and resolve intercompany mismatches. Prepare and post journal entries for intercompany changes and accruals. Perform and review monthly close process to ensure books and records are accurately stated and all close procedures are completed. Communicate process objectives, steps, and changes to ensure processes are performed in compliance with company close schedule. Identify and analyze process errors and anomalies (e.g., coding errors, variance analysis, etc.) to ensure customers receive thorough and accurate replies for improving ineffective processes. Work with corporate and business units to identify process work that allows migration opportunity to Shared Services Site. Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting Experience using Oracle and/or SAP in a professional capacity preferred. Must have at least 5 years’ general ledger experience in a corporate accounting function or shared services function Previous interaction with international subsidiaries and exposure to international accounting topics preferred Experience in a lead role related to special projects preferred Blackline experience preferred.
