Job responsibilities The Chief Product Engineer will work in the Flotation Product Line consisting of Forced Air and Self-Aspirated mechanical flotation cells, Column flotation cells and Attrition mixing cells. The Chief Product Engineer will provide expert judgement and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. The Chief Product Engineer will be responsible for the overall design integrity of product while also ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Key Accountabilities Work with minimal to no supervision. May work on contract, standardization, product improvement or RD projects. Responsible for overall design integrity of product. Responsible to deliver project according to scope, schedule, and budget. Work with the Product Line Management group to define product definition and direction. Direct standardization, product improvement and development efforts of the product line. Review and support technical development of members within the team. Will work with other engineering disciplines to meet project deliverables (i.e. Process, Electrical, Automation, etc.). Analyze complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures. Review and approve designs and calculations, design drawings. Work with global resources to complete deliverables. Travel to job sites and regional offices as required, in support of equipment problems, fabrication and manufacturing support, installation support, and sales efforts. Assist operations with implementation of low-cost sourcing initiatives. May assist in development of design standards and guides, specifications, and design control procedures. Participate actively with other lead engineers, designers and drafters in a team environment and contribute to successful completion of team goals. Will be involved in multiple projects in parallel. What you bring Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required. Successful completion of PE Exam (or equivalent) is preferred. 10-15 years' experience with the design and development of large industrial equipment. Proficient in engineering design fundamentals: machine design, mechanics of materials and structural analysis, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication systems, drive trains, fatigue life calculations, vibration, fluid mechanics, etc. Good working knowledge of standard steel fabrication, casting and other manufacturing processes. Proficient with engineering design tools (AutoCad, Solidworks, FEA-ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. Basic understanding of design requirements of other engineering disciplines: electrical, instrumentation and control, process, etc. Proficient in engineering change management.
