[What the role is] As a tax professional, you have tax knowledge at your fingertips and the passion to build a socially responsible taxpaying community. You will use your resourcefulness, strong communication skills and creativity to provide a suite of personal income tax services including taxpayer assessment, education and tax audit. [What you will be working on] This role requires you to: Handle enquiries across multiple contact channels, displaying IRAS’ service attributes (e.g. 3PCs) to deliver the desired IRAS experience Understand the profile of stakeholders, identifies their needs and nudge them towards self-help channels Is proficient in using various digital tools and systems to provide service to taxpayers Keep abreast of tax and service developments to provide up-to-date and accurate advice to stakeholders Handle exceptions or complicated cases that cannot be auto-processed by the system Conduct post-assessment review on straight-through processed cases to identify system enhancements to be made Keep abreast of tax developments to effectively process Income Tax Returns/forms and review of Relief/Exemptions under Double Taxation Agreements and other schemes [What we are looking for] Background in Accountancy or Business preferred Basic knowledge of Individual Income Tax preferred Experience/ interest in systems related work Excellent communication and writing skills Resourceful, creative and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal stakeholders within and across teams The successful candidate will be offered a contractual role with possibility for contract extension or permanent emplacement if assessed to be suitable.
