As a Data Governance, Metadata Lineage Access lead, you will hold a pivotal role in GSK data governance council, a collective responsible for critical data-related decisions within GSK. Its primary objective is to ensure reliable data is readily available to all staff, maintaining its continuous accessibility, usability, and reliability. It focuses on leveraging data effectively while establishing and enforcing rules to govern data handling. Additionally, it implements procedures to safeguard data integrity and privacy. Expectations for this role include driving data governance process and standards by providing project leadership. This involves planning, directing and executing operation utilizing agreed-upon governance management methodologies. It ensures governance principles and objectives are achieved. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Key Responsibilities: Develop, evaluate, and maintain updated metadata, lineage, and data access standards, templates, and procedural workflows. Implement and overseas compliance with metadata, lineage, and data access protocols at regional and local market levels, ensuring consistent adherence to established standards. Regularly audit and assess data catalogue systems and access permission to guarantee alignment with agreed standards and process. Offer guidance and assistance to data stewards in the adoption and effective utilization of metadata, lineage, and data access protocols, facilitating their understanding and implementation. Conduct quality assurance checks on the outputs delivered by region and local teams to ensure precision and adherence to established standards. Centralize and manage data access rights through RBAC matrix, maintaining comprehensive logs detailing granted and revoked access permissions. Actively participate in the Enterprise Management Data Governance council, contributing insights to resolve complex metadata, lineage, and data access issues. Additionally provide updates on the data governance roadmap, facilitating strategic alignment and continuous improvement initiatives Why you? Job Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Management Information Systems etc.) 5+ years experiences in data lifecycle management Knowledge in data governance Technical skills – DG tool proficiency (Collibra, Unity Catalogue, and Atacama) Knowledge in technology architecture (Azure is a plus) Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive change across a wide range of stakeholders. Comprehensive experience in project management, including delivery of complex IT projects and services, on both in-country and above-country levels by using the methodology intelligently. Preferred Qualifications: Experiences that would be a plus Working in Azure environments Databricks At least one of the following languages: SQL, Python, R, Spark Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset. Experience successfully driving end-to-end operation of new process. Establishes the right governance and knows how to leverage stakeholders, holds all stakeholders accountable with clarity Strong interpersonal skills, including networking and teamwork abilities, combined with excellent negotiation and communication skills (within both IT and Business communities) Continuously looking for opportunities to learn, build skills and share learning both internally and externally.
