As a senior member of the Business Legal Affairs team (BALA), the successful candidate will have experience in:•Stakeholder management across a television studio and / or content production business;•Managing deal strategy, business affairs and all contracting matters across an international facing television production business;•Drafting and negotiating agreements with a range of international and domestic commissioning platforms, distributors and financiers;•Engaging cast, crew and above the line personnel, having regard to Australian, US and other international guild agreements, including WGA, SAG-AFTRA and DGA deals;•Providing day-to-day support and advice to production teams, including production compliance matters and legal risk, providing clearance advice, negotiating location and filming access agreements and post-production matters;•Liaising with industry bodies, in particular handling negotiations with MEAA on cast and crew union agreements;•Content distribution, including handling rights and format information enquires;•Advising on copyright, trademark, defamation, privacy, and areas of law affecting media content;•Providing advice and updates on broadcasting laws and standards, broadcaster codes of practice, funding agency terms of trade and guidelines, and available screen production incentives;•Building and maintaining effective relationships with agents, commissioners, funding agencies and industry bodies.The responsibilities associated with this position are not limited to the above job description.
