The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining disaster recovery strategies and plans to ensure the continuous protection of IT infrastructure and operations.This role involves conducting risk assessments, planning disaster response activities, and ensuring business continuity in the event of IT disruptions.Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT infrastructure and operations.Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans that align with business continuity goals.Coordinate with client IT and business units to ensure disaster recovery plans are integrated with overall business continuity strategies.Design, implement, and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure quick recovery of IT systems in the event of a disruption.Provide training and guidance to client staff on disaster recovery procedures and responsibilities.Stay abreast of the latest disaster recovery techniques and technologies and incorporate best practices into disaster recovery plans.Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure the effectiveness of recovery strategies and to identify areas for improvement.Assist in the recovery of IT systems and operations in the event of a disaster.Prepare and maintain documentation of disaster recovery procedures, plans, and reports.Collaborate with external vendors and service providers as needed to enhance disaster recovery capabilities.Non-Negotiables:Network Administration: Understanding of network hardware, protocols, and services.Systems Administration: Proficiency in managing various operating systems (Windows, Linux).Cloud Services: Knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Cybersecurity: Skills in implementing security measures, understanding vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents.Data Management and Backup: Experience with data storage solutions, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.Minimum of 8 years’ network and server administration role.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.Knowledge of business continuity planning, risk management, and IT security best practices.Experience with disaster recovery software and tools.Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, CISSP, MCSE) are highly desirable.Fluent in both English and French.Job Type:ContractWorkplace type:HybridLocation:Western CapeExperience Level:Executive
