The Hospitality Unit is part of the NTU Hospitality and Events Office, dedicated to overseeing, enhancing, and optimising the utilisation and operations of NTU's hospitality assets, ensuring that they meet global standards, offer exceptional experiences, and reflect NTU's mission and values. Leading the NTU Hospitality Unit, the General Manager (GM) oversees and enhances the university's hospitality and MICE assets, aiming to integrate unparalleled hospitality and MICE experiences with academia. This role requires a Bachelor's/Master's in Hospitality, 10+ years in senior management within hospitality, profound knowledge of industry trends, and exceptional leadership skills. The GM will collaborate across NTU, ensuring the synergy of hospitality services with academic and community engagements. Responsibilities Strategic Oversight and Leadership: Oversight and strategic direction of the University's hospitality assets, ensuring they not only align with but enhance the University's reputation, offerings, and broader objectives, such as in the long-term development of hospitality assets. Asset Management, Enhancement and Optimisation: Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and efficient utilisation of hospitality assets, including accommodation, event spaces, and FB outlets. Develop and drive strategies to ensure consistent quality and profitability. Infrastructure Management and Development: Lead in and oversee the planning, design, construction, and refurbishment of Nanyang Executive Centre (NEC), Campus Clubhouse, Halal Dining Hall and other assets. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and leverage on strategic alliances to enhance NTU's hospitality offerings Quality Assurance Compliance: Define, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols. Ensure all operations adhere to university policies and external regulations Financial Management and Independence: Develop and lead the strategic financial plan for the hospitality unit, ensuring that the unit becomes and remains self-financing. Guest Experience Satisfaction: Review operating strategy and formulate and implement world-class service protocols. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree in a related field would be advantageous. Comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry, including hotel management, FB operations, event management, and customer service best practices. Proficient knowledge in construction/project management. Familiarity with architectural design principles and real estate development. Awareness of the latest trends and innovations in the hospitality world. Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of integrating hospitality within an academic setting. Minimum of 12 to 15 years in the hospitality industry with at least 6 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within a university or large-scale event environment and overseeing a major refurbishment project. Proven track record of managing hospitality assets, enhancing customer experiences, and driving profitability. Extensive experience in fostering and sustaining collaborations with diverse internal and external stakeholders is critical.
