IT Project Coordinator Weir Marine Engineering LaSalle or Gatineau QC, Halifax NS, or the National Capital Region Hybrid - Option of working on premises or a combination of on premise and teleworking Purpose of Role: You will act as an interface between our clients and their business and engineering processes, and our internal project teams. You will champion projects and initiatives and see them through successfully in accordance with established internal policy, procedures and processes. This role is not hands on, but it is very technical, in that you must be able to interact with the technical project team members, chair technical discussions, challenge technical decisions, make decisions on technical data, and occasionally personally address technical work packages. The role will execute various coordinating tasks/services, such as schedule and risk management, maintaining and validating project documentation, monitoring project and implementation plans and schedules, participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring projects are delivered in a timely manner. Candidate must have a Canadian Citizenship and living in Canada a minimum of 10 years in order to obtain a government security clearance required for the position. Key Responsibilities: Create project plans using WME’s Cost and Schedule Performance Management System (C/SPMS), addressing scope, budget, risks and detailed Work Breakdown Sequences (WBS); Interact with clients and business/technical stakeholders to understand, extract and develop project requirements (functional, operational, performance, security, etc.); Write requirements, technical, reference, architecture and design documentation in accordance with the group’s style using established templates; Develop technical plans in accordance with the group’s System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) SDLC process; Develop and assign technical Work Packages in conjunction with functional managers; Hold internal and external review, coordination and progress meetings, acting as a facilitator amongst assigned technical resources; Review technical outputs; Prepare presentation material, lead stakeholder meetings, and produce meeting Record of Discussions/Decisions (RODs); Review monthly expenditures and produce monthly progress reports for the client using WME’s C/SPMS; and Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Well-rounded project management knowledge, self-taught or through recognized certifications; Demonstrated technical work experience in the field of IT in technologies such as: Wide Area Networking; Routing and Switching; Security; Virtualization, Software Defined Networking and Software Defined Storage; Desktop Delivery and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure; Enterprise infrastructure services; and Enterprise IT and communications hardware and software. Familiarity with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to work to tight timelines, take on additional responsibilities, and accept and introduce change in a positive manner; You can write very well in English; ITIL and service management knowledge is a plus; Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is considered an asset.
