Responsible for deploying project changes within LSEG storage and backup infrastructure, ensuring enterprise storage, backup and archive services for LSEG are resilient, performant and documented. Specialized knowledge across at least two of the following, with broad knowledge for the rest: o Hitachi enterprise storage systems o Dell enterprise storage systems o Pure Storage systems o Migration experience with host, storage and software defined storage o Dell Isilon network attached storage o Dell ECS archive o Brocade enterprise storage area networking systems o Veritas enterprise data protection software and appliances o Rubrik backup software o Quantum tape backup libraries o Cloud exposure Responsibilities of role: Responsible for annually scheduled project work in the storage and backup space. Follow project plans for timely deployment of new technology end to end, work with project management to resolve problems and technical project challenges. Be aware of business deadlines for delivery and coordinate with relevant technical teams for delivery. Provide regular updates on progress of delivery to ensure satisfaction with the service before closing out tasks. Lead efforts of foreseeing technical challenges or problems and delivering effective solutions. Suggest innovative solutions to reduce effort, cost and speed up delivery. Prioritize and clearly account for work. Ensure that time recording for project activities are accurate. Be self-motivated in keeping technical knowledge up to date. Provide weekend support for scheduled project work. Understand the technology direction for the storage service and apply this to technical allocations and deployments. Work closely with the service and change management teams to ensure that all project changes comply with the minimum services standards and that service risks are minimized, and the service excellence process is a key area of focus. Ensure that the storage estate is maintained, highlighting operational requirements to refresh or replace technology to Storage Team Lead or Engineering in a pro-active and timely manner. Ensure that licensing and asset management is accurate, up to date and compliant. Soft skills for role: Good oral and written communication skills, including to ability to articulate complex issues and activities at an appropriate level for the audience. To work within the standards and guidelines of LSEG with an understanding and appreciation of the objectives of the business and services provided. A capabillity to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external vendors is beneficial.
