We take that extra step to make sure blood donors get the highest-quality experience possible.Summary of Duties:The Per Diem Blood Donor RN functions under supervision by charge nurse or senior licensed technical/clinical personnelCollecting whole blood from voluntary blood donors and performing blood component collection in house and on mobile blood drive sitesServes as a problem-solving resourcePerforms routine and specialized operational and support functions, such as assessment of health histories of blood and apheresis donors, stocking up supplies and assisting with setting up and breaking down of mobile blood drive sites with equipment and suppliesPerforms blood component collection by apheresis for red cells, platelets and plasmaParticipates in special projects and assignments as specifiedQualificationsEducational Requirements:High School diploma, valid RN licenseLicenses:Valid RN licenseBLS upon hireExperience:One year in acute care settingPrior experience in blood donor setting preferredPhysical Demands:• Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds for distances to 10 feet.• Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices, including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.• Visual acuity acceptable for performing duties of this position.• Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.About UsCedars-Sinai is a leader in providing high-quality healthcare encompassing primary care, specialized medicine and research.
