POSITION Engineering ManagerLOCATIONGauteng, Boksburg, South AfricaSALARYR960 000 – R1 488 000 CTC per annum (Negotiable)SUMMARYOur client in the packaging industry seeks to appoint an Engineering Manager for their plant. You will oversee maintenance operations and ensure all the needed schedules are in place and equipment is functioning optimally. Manage and optimize the Utilities operation to deliver superior service to the production depts. Implement the programs and systems to achieve and sustain high plant & equipment capability, availability, and reliability standards.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the maintenance Planner in developing project management programs and schedules for all plant and equipment at the Plant as per the reliability strategy adoptedImprove machine availability by actively reducing unplanned downtime using suitable problem-solving techniques (5Why, End state, etc.)Develop standard operating procedures to develop engineering personnel and to ensure the safety of plant/personnelConduct supplier audits to ensure equipment remains in its operational windowEnsure all statutory inspections and or, requirements are as per the OHS Act related to machinery are fulfilled and records heldAssist in preparing cost estimates for budget preparation, proposed projects, and other assigned workOptimize the utilization of water, energy, and other consumables to reduce the cost of operationDevelop engineering projects to reduce product cost, improve product quality, and address safety issuesEnsure that appropriate and adequate tools and equipment are provided to subordinatesEffectively champion sustainable development initiatives for the siteOptimize plant and equipment settings and operating parameters to achieve the best results in quality, productivity, and service deliveryAchieve all plant and equipment performance targetsAssist the Plant to implement the programs and systems to achieve and sustain high standards of Safety, Health, and EnvironmentAssist the Plant to implement the programs and systems to achieve and sustain high standards of Safety, Health, and EnvironmentAssist Group Engineering in coordinating all aspects of engineering work such as financial forecasts, development of bidding contracts, approval of payment to contractors and vendors, and turnkey efforts required for project completionMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSNational N Diploma (N5/T3) in mechanical or electro-technical (heavy current) with 2 years experience with similar equipmentTrade Test as an Artisan – Mechanical/Electrical/Millwright with 5 years experience with similar equipmentEngineering Diploma or Graduate engineer (mechanical or electrical (heavy current)Government Certification of Competency3 to 5 years of Engineering qualification experience in a supervisory or management position
